Is Neville brave ?

When Harry met Neville in the Hogwarts Express, few of us could have perceived how much a valuable friend and a gifted botanist he would turned out to be. And yet…. And yet we you think back, many a time Neville showed great strength of character and managed to help his friends. Does this ring a bell?

The first one is when Neville tries to prevent Harry, Ron and Hermione from exiting Gryffindor dorms at night, which would lead to their being found out and being punished with less points for their House. Hermione petrifies Neville with a spell and eventually the three of them prevent Lord Voldemort and Professor Quirrell from stealing the Philosopher stone. Neville’s brave act will also be a key point for Gryffindor to win the yearly cup as he brings 50 points for standing up to his friends!

A second remarkable moment is his battle against Lord Voldermort’s frightening giant snake Nagini. Neville bravely battles with Nagini, eventually killing it with the help of Gryffindor’s sword! If this is not a sign of true chivalry what could this be?

Another time when Neville showed his courage was when with Harry and their friends they went to the Minsitry of magic to take back the prophecy. Neville confronted Bellatrix Lestrange during the ensuing fight, which brought him to reminisce his past and the pain she inflicted his parents.
