In the Netflix series "Squid Game," the Dalgona challenge is another challenge that tests the contestants' mental endurance. This game has its roots in South Korean culture, adding a layer of cultural significance to the intense competition unfolding within the show.

In the Dalgona game, participants must carefully carve out a delicate shape from a honeycomb candy known as Dalgona using only a toothpick. Failure to achieve this task or breaking the candy will result in immediate elimination.

There are a total of four possible shapes: square, triangle, circle, and umbrella. Player 456 got the umbrella shape which is the most complicated due to its many edges and curves. Towards the end of the game, he thought of a brilliant idea. Instead of intricatly breaking the shape off with a toothpick, he decided to lick the candy, hoping to slowly melt off the shape with his tongue.

The Dalgona game symbolizes the intricate challenges and moral dilemmas faced by the contestants throughout the series.
