Our Season 2 Pin Set features recognizable references from Stranger Things. This story picks up one year after the events of Season 1, as the town of Hawkins, Indiana tries to return to normal. However, Will Byers is still experiencing terrifying visions of the Upside Down. This time, something even darker and more powerful is lurking: an enormous, shadowy force with four legs known as the Mind Flayer. Meanwhile, the core group of friends—Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Will—begin to notice strange things happening again, just as a new girl named Max Mayfield moves to town.
Max quickly shakes things up. She’s tough, independent, and becomes part of the group, though not without some tension, especially from Mike who’s still grieving the loss of Eleven. Max first catches the boys’ attention at the Palace Arcade, where she beats Dustin's high score, earning the nickname "Mad Max." Her arrival brings a fresh dynamic and eventually helps the team face their next big challenge.
The supernatural threat escalates as Dustin accidentally finds and raises a small creature from the Upside Down, which he names Dart. But Dart is more dangerous than he realizes—it’s a young Demodog, a new form of monster tied to the Mind Flayer’s army. As the Mind Flayer grows in power, it begins to control Will, using him as a spy and a gateway into the real world.
Eleven, who has been secretly hiding with Jim Hopper, embarks on her journey to understand her past and powers. She eventually returns in time to help the group close the gate to the Upside Down, cutting off the Mind Flayer’s influence... for now.
Stranger Things Season 2 ends on a hopeful note with the kids attending the Snow Ball dance, but a final shot of the Mind Flayer looming over Hawkins reminds us that the Upside Down isn’t finished yet. With the addition of Max, the nostalgic setting of Palace Arcade, and the terrifying rise of the Mind Flayer, Season two expands the Stranger Things world.
